From couch to 113k: The employee challenge empowering a bright future

MUFG employees

At Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), making a difference starts from within. That’s the spirit behind their ‘Fitprints for Good’ programme, a heartfelt employee-led initiative that brings together two powerful goals: supporting employee wellbeing and giving back to causes that matter to their employees.

In an era where remote work, digital burnout and health awareness are all shaping the modern workplace, MUFG saw an opportunity to not only encourage their teams to get moving, but to connect every step, cycle, or swim with purpose. ‘Fitprints for Good’ invites employees across MUFG’s EMEA offices to take on physical challenges, where teams have embarked on fundraising efforts from 5Ks to triathlons, solo hikes to team walks. All in aim of raising money for charities close to their hearts.

With hundreds of employees taking part and choosing different ways to raise money for the cause, the programme quickly grew into something much bigger - a collective force for good that needed a home.

Example projects

MUFG have worked with Crowdfunder to build a secure, centralised campaign hub. Creating a digital space that brings all their employee fundraising efforts together to: Inspire and motivate other employees; create a central point for guidance and information, and showcase cumulative totals for all the activities. Meaning the campaign became more efficient and impactful.

Each participant creates their own project page, telling their personal story and highlighting the charity they’re supporting. But every project links back to the main Fitprints for Good campaign, offering a single view of the collective effort, energy and money raised.

£113k raised so far

The result so far? Over 190 individual fundraisers have now raised over £113,000 and counting.

Even better, donations are processed directly via Crowdfunder, meaning no employee needs to handle cash or worry about bank transfers. Creating a stress-free, secure solution that supports both the passion of individuals and the structure needed at a company-wide level. With all the money raised going directly to the overall project owner.

"It's great to see another employee fundraising programme hosted on Crowdfunder. As our platform works for organisations looking to raise hundreds or even millions of pounds for good causes. Internal initiatives like Fitprints for Good really benefit from having a clear platform presence — not just to manage the scale and security of donations, but to give the programme visibility and momentum year after year."  — Chloe Jones, Crowdfunder

As Fitprints for Good continues to build momentum, we believe there’s an additional opportunity for MUFG to take the initiative even further with the inclusion of Live Match Funding.

Crowdfunder Connect allows corporate donations to be added directly at checkout, which would enable every donation made by friends, family or colleagues to be instantly doubled. It’s an impactful way to blend corporate giving with personal fundraising, unlocking even more support for the causes their employees care about.

However, with the infrastructure already in place and a culture of generosity growing stronger every year, MUFG are already in a great position to continue to do good for so many.
